Failure is always an option — but so is reinvention

I am seventy-six. Part One of this story is a record. Success inflates. Failure grounds. Success blinds. Failure reveals. If you are waiting to feel ready, you will wait through the only years you had.

Start small. Start young if you can. Start old if you must. Start scared. Start broke. Start confused. Start imperfect. Just start.

Part Two is the living part: a winter as a ski pilot, time with the Forest Service, a franchise question, and that empty seat. I am still writing it, because the condition has not let go.

This chapter is part of Failure Is Always an Option. The full book is still a free PDF, and the voice-over still plays on the book page: the book page
